Latin Jazz Group Salsamba Concludes Uptown Jazz Series
The Mary Pappert School of Music's Uptown Jazz Series at Duquesne University concludes on Monday, April 3, with a performance by Salsamba.
Salsamba, a Latin jazz quintet, will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Genesius Theater on campus. The group is known for fusing Latin-American rhythms with the harmonic and melodic sophistication of contemporary American jazz.
The Uptown Jazz Series, under the artistic direction of Mike Tomaro, is an anthology of concerts featuring a variety of jazz styles from visiting ensembles. The series will kick off again in September focusing on the history of jazz.
General admission tickets to see Salsamba are $10 and will be available at the door. Call the music school at 412.396.6083 for more information.
