New Joint Degree Program Propels Students to Become the Future of Healthcare

From technological advancements to increased demand for quicker access to quality medical care, the need for business-minded, collaborative, forward-thinking leaders in the healthcare industry has never been more important.

To meet this need, the John G. Rangos Sr. School of Health Sciences and the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business are offering a new dual MHA/MBA program. The Master of Health Administration and Master of Business Administration will propel students to the top of the healthcare industry by preparing them for advanced leadership roles.

Students can earn both an MHA and MBA in as little as three years. For added flexibility, students have the option to complete these degrees entirely online.

"This new dual degree program provides students with essential skills- critical thinking, problem-solving and strategic decision-making- to assume fast-track leadership positions and forge new paths in the dynamic healthcare landscape," said Dr. Dean McFarlin, dean of the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business.

This flexible program gives students a foundation in accounting, finance, economics, marketing, ethics and more. Students have the ability to tailor the curriculum to develop expertise in specialized concentration areas including data analytics and healthcare compliance.

"We are pleased to partner with the School of Business to offer these new programs," said Dr. Fevzi Akinci, dean of the Rangos School of Health Sciences. "Students who graduate with these degrees will be prepared for exciting careers where they will become leaders and innovators in the field. The dual degrees expand student horizons, making them even more valuable in the growing health care sector."

To enroll in the dual MHA/MBA program, students must apply and be accepted to both the Palumbo Donahue School of Business and the John G. Rangos Sr. School of Health Sciences.
