Princeton Review Ranks Duquesne University Among ‘The Best 382 Colleges’

Duquesne is also included in the list of Best Colleges: Region by Region for the Northeast

Duquesne University has again been selected by The Princeton Review as one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduate education.

To develop its 2018 edition of The Best 382 Colleges, The Princeton Review surveyed 137,000 students at 382 top colleges and asked them to rate their schools on several topics of interest to applicants.

In the publication's profile of Duquesne University, students describe themselves as "thoughtful, dedicated to success, morally and spiritually driven, diverse and not only interested in serving the community within the Pittsburgh region, but strive to make a difference in areas around the globe." The University is described as an institution that provides a "friendly, yet-professional, scholarly Catholic education."

Duquesne has also been named to the 2018 Best Colleges: Region by Region list, which The Princeton Review describes as various academic institutions "that we consider academically outstanding and well worth consideration of (one's) college search." The University is included in the Northeastern group of schools.

The profile also touts Duquesne's 99 Fire Safety rating, which is based a scale of 60 to 99, and its selection among The Princeton Review's Green Colleges list.

"We picked the 382 'best' colleges for our book primarily for their outstanding academics: we highly recommend each one," said Robert Franek, editor-in-chief for The Princeton Review and this book's lead author. "However, we know applicants need far more than an academic rating or ranking to find the college that will be best for them.

"We created our 62 ranking lists to help narrow that search," Franek added. "They are based entirely on data we gather beyond academics that gives insight into what the schools' enrolled students say about their professors, administrators, school services, campus culture, and student life. In the end, it's all about the fit."
