Animal Friends (North Hills)

Animal Friends is a organization and shelter that assists in finding over 2,000 animals homes per year in Western Pennsylvania. This organization works to educate the public about the importance of the humane treatment of animals.

Volunteers are needed to dog walk and cat socialize, as well as, assisting with special events. All volunteers will be trained on the proper procedures for animal handling. Pre-requisite: 16 yrs of age to work with cats and rabbits, 18 yrs of age to work with dogs, Orientation and handling classes required.

Animal Rescue League of Western PA (East End)

Animal Rescue League provides shelter and medical care to homeless and abused animals, as well as, humane education to the community. Volunteers will socialize with the animals, walk them and groom them. Pre-requisite: Must be 18 years old, Orientation will be given

Humane Society of Western PA (Northside)

The Western PA Humane Society is committed to helping stray animals find safe permanent homes.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of service areas including the Kennel, Therapy Dogs, Vet clinic & surgery, The Communications and Events Department, The Development Department, The Education Behavior Obedience Department, the Investigations Department and the Administrative Department.
