Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh (Oakland)

Carnegie Museum is dedicated to the understanding and enjoyment of art and science. Our mission is to collect, preserve, interpret, educate and exhibit objects from natural history and art to the widest possible audience.

Many current opportunities are available including the Natural History, The Art, and The Andy Warhol museums and assisting in office type work. Pre-requisite: 18 years of age, orientation, and a training period.


Carnegie Science Center (North Shore)

Carnegie Science Center is the Carnegie Museum dedicated to educating the public about science through interactive exhibits and instruction.

Volunteers are needed to assist in administering museum surveys and also in entering data into the museum databases. Data entry is web-based and therefore can be done from home. The Science Center is able to write recommendation letters for those involved and can work with individuals who wish to make this opportunity an internship.


Children's Museum of Pittsburgh (Northside)

The Children's Museum is dedicated to educating youth through fun and interactive exhibits.

Volunteers are needed to work in the exhibit spaces, interacting with children and families, as an admissions helper or assisting with programs and classes.


Pittsburgh Cultural District (Downtown)

The Pittsburgh Cultural District consists of six theater companies: Pittsburgh Ballet, Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Public Theater, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Pittsburgh Symphony and Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. In addition to the six theaters, galleries, parks and outside festivals.

Volunteers may be used for ushering, back stage tours, gallery crawls and other events held throughout the year at any one of six theater companies.
