The Duquesne University School of Nursing and Allegheny School of Anesthesia will jointly offer a three-year Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice program (DNAP) beginning fall 2022. Allegheny School of Anesthesia, in partnership with Duquesne University, has received approval of the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) to conduct an entry-level DNAP program. With the introduction of this nurse anesthesia program, the SON is currently seeking one full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) faculty for a 12-month, non-tenure clinical track, assistant or associate professor position starting July 2022. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach in the new nurse anesthesia curriculum, oversee DNAP scholarly projects, and engage in collaborative work with our faculty.
- Doctorate in Nursing or related field
- Previous clinical experience as a nurse anesthetist
- Certified as a Nurse Anesthetist
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse and CRNA in Pennsylvania
- Teaching philosophy commensurate with Duquesne University's mission and values
- Successful teaching experience in a nurse anesthesia program at the university or college level including some online teaching expertise
- Demonstrated commitment to the profession as evidenced in record of professional leadership or public service, and scholarship
