Final Grades

In the Fall and Spring semesters, final grading is turned on for faculty members in Self-Service Banner on the first day of final exams. All final grades are due within 72 hours of the completion of the final exam or the last class meeting. Details for each semester are provided below.

Students cannot automatically see their final grades once they've been entered on the grade roster. The Office of the University Registrar must run several database jobs to process grades and to post them to students' transcripts. For Fall and Spring semesters, this posting process is run for the first time the day after the last day of final exams. So, students cannot begin to see their final grades until the final exam period has ended. The posting process is run nightly, and grades are viewable by students as entered by the course instructors.

Students can view final grades by logging on to their Student Profile in the Duquesne Portal and selecting View Grades from the menu on the left side of the screen.

Half-Semester and Accelerated Programs: Part-of-Term 1 and Part-of-Term 2 Classes

Some courses are scheduled on the two 8-week “mini” terms, referred to as “Part-of-Term 1” and “Part-of-Term 2,” within each of the fall and spring semesters. Final grades for these classes are due 72 hours after the conclusion of the last class meeting.
