Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Community Engagement
Joan Hayek began her role at Duquesne University in October 2017. Hayek manages the Office of Community Engagement's operations and administrative functions, and she assists with social media strategy and the compilation of community engagement activities across campus.
Prior to her role at Duquesne, Hayek served with Bill Generett at Urban Innovation21, a non-profit that offers programming to support startups and entrepreneurs. In her role at Urban Innovation21, Hayek supported the internship program and oversaw the office's administrative functions. She also has previous experience in project management and educational programming.
Hayek received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
