Hogan Dining Hall Closing for Renovations

Hogan Dining Hall is getting a major glow up! Inspired by student input from focus groups and feedback on vision boards, it’s the biggest refresh in nearly 15 years. Enhancements will include new food concepts, improved menu and nutrition displays, all new furniture and finishes, and a more open floor plan.

Hogan Dining Hall will close Monday, April 13, 2026, to begin its transformation. We recognize this is during the last stretch of the semester, so we're expanding dining options, extending some hours and add meal swipes to keep you fueled through finals. Your favorite Hogan picks will be served up at other campus dining spots, including veggie, vegan, allergy-conscious and gluten-free options.

The refreshed Hogan Dining Hall will reopen in time for the fall 2026 semester with a modern, comfortable and efficient dining experience that better supports your day‑to‑day life on campus.

Hogan Dining Hall will close on April 13, 2026, and is scheduled to reopen for the start of the fall 2026 semester.

Hogan Dining Hall is closing temporarily for its first major refresh in nearly 15 years. The renovation brings new food concepts, improved menu and nutrition displays, all new furniture and finishes, and a more open floor plan inspired by student feedback. The goal is to create a more modern, comfortable and efficient dining experience that better supports daily student life.
Beginning April 13, expanded dining options across campus will ensure continued access to meals. Students will have enhanced service at existing locations, food trucks, pop ups, grab-and-go, late night service, increased night service and additional meal swipe flexibility. Dining locations and hours will be posted on the Duquesne Dining website.

There will be no added costs to meal plans. In fact, from April 13 to May 6 (the end of the spring semester), there will be expanded flexibility for meal swipes on campus, including increased number of daily meal swipes as well as swipe meal equivalencies at Moonlit Burgers, the Vibrant Sunshine Juicery Café and participating food trucks and pop ups.

All students with a Duquesne University meal plan will have expanded flexibility from April 13 to the end of the spring semester on May 6.
Beginning April 13, you’ll continue to find vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergy-friendly choices at dining locations for the rest of the spring semester. The Inspired Eats allergen-free station will also be operational for daily meals at another dining location to be determined. Students whose individual specific diets have already been addressed with Dining Services will continue to be accommodated in the same manner. Dining Services is here to partner with you on your individual dietary needs—just let us know how we can help.
Renovation updates and FAQs are available on the Duquesne Dining Website. Additional details on expanded dining hours, food-truck schedules and pop-up information will be added to the website and shared in University email communications as we get closer to April 13.
Dining Services has increased staffing, added new service points, and created additional grab-and-go options to help keep lines moving smoothly. Campus pop ups and daily food trucks will also help during busy times.
Selected food trucks will offer meal swipe equivalency and flex or plus dollars, while others may accept credit only.
Beginning Monday, April 13, updated dining menus will be available on the Duquesne Dining website.
Yes! Your favorite Hogan picks will be available at expanded dining locations. In addition, special themed pop ups and daily food trucks will bring fresh, fun options across campus.
The refreshed Hogan will feature all new furniture and finishes, increased natural light, a more open layout, revised food stations and menu concepts, more seating—including study rooms and individual nooks—a lounge area and expanded programming space.
During the design phase of Hogan Dining, students participated in focus groups and engaged with opportunities to provide feedback on vision boards regarding preferred layout and style.
Indoor dining locations provide reliable access to meals no matter the weather, and food truck schedules will shift, if needed, to make sure you can still grab what you need.
Construction areas in Towers will be clearly marked and safely contained. Facilities and contractors are coordinating to minimize noise and maintain safety.
Students can submit comments through the Duquesne Dining website, via email or speak with dining managers at campus locations.
