Barnes & Noble Bookstore and Cafe - The bookstore covers two floors and offers a robust rental program that allows students to rent textbooks and save up to 80%
off the purchase price of a new book. The store carries a wide selection of Duquesne
clothing and gifts, offers a full-service general reading book section, and features
a Barnes & Noble café serving snacks, sandwiches, and Starbucks coffee. The bookstore
accepts all forms of payment, including Student Financial Aid, Duquesne Dollars, and
Barnes & Noble gift cards. Students can also utilize the online bookstore.
Center for Career Development - Duquesne's Center for Career Development offers a wide variety of events and services to assist you in every step of your career development. Our counselors, with subject-specific expertise, are available to meet one-on-one and offer

The center also maintains DuqCareerLink, an online system that provides a listing of all recruiting events as well as mock interview modules, sample resumes and tip sheets. The center also provides access to companies and organizations through Job Fairs and on-campus recruiting activities.

Center for Teaching Excellence - The Center for Teaching Excellence promotes excellence in teaching by getting to know our faculty and graduate students, learning from them, fostering leadership,
and bring people together from across the University. The Center provides consultations,
workshops, and print and web resources on teaching and academic success. Their focus
is on implementing evidence-based, high-impact educational practices with the Duquesne
community of teachers and learners.
Commuter Affairs - The Office of Commuter Affairs works diligently to help students feel at home and
part of the Duquesne family. This includes assisting students in seeking out help
through the various academic resources available, off-campus housing information,
as well as information and resources related to commuting.
Commuter Center - newly renovated, the Commuter Center offers space to connect with classmates as
well as quiet study areas. The center includes a kitchen, quiet study room and computer
lab.
Computer Store - The DU Computer Store is a vital non-profit resource available to all Duquesne students,
faculty, staff, and alumni, providing the perfect solution at a competitive price.
IT%20Service%20Desk- The IT Service Desk prides itself in exceptional customer service. Located on the second floor of the Student Union, service desk staff members are available to provide technology support and assistance.
Gumberg Library - Gumberg Library sits near the heart of the DU campus and offers an impressive array
of source materials and resources. The library houses nearly 750,000 print volumes
as well as nearly 135,000 e-books and over 200 research databases. Open until 1:00am Monday-Thursday and Sunday
when classes are in session, the library's resources and staff members are readily
available to students. Gumberg provides a number of resources exclusively for graduate students, including loaner laptops and a dedicated graduate student study room. Resources
are available for online learners as well.
Writing Center - The writing center is a resource that provides one-to-one feedback on papers or
other writing assignments.
Outside the Classroom
UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse - Home to the Duquesne Dukes men's and women's basketball teams, the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse also hosts campus-wide events such as commencement
and matriculation. Public events include concerts from nationally known artists. Visit

Campus Security - Pittsburgh is consistently ranked among the safest cities in the country. One of only five accredited universities in the state by the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association, the Duquesne University Department of Public Safety is committed to providing a safe environment for students. Services include a DU Alert emergency notification system as well as an Escort Service to ensure the safety of all Duquesne University community members as they travel to or from their car, residence hall, academic building or office.
Counseling and Wellbeing Center - The Counseling and Wellbeing Center provides services and resources that enable students to live a meaningful life based on a mind/body/spirit approach to wellbeing. Services and resources include individual appointments, a 24/7 crisis hotline, therapy groups, workshops and an interfaith meditation room.
Dining Services - Duquesne Dining Services offers 11 convenient dining locations across campus. Recently named one of the Top 75 Best Colleges for Food in America by The Daily Meal, students
will find a wide variety of tasty options and flexible hours. Students are able to
purchase meal plans, FLEX Dollars and DU Dollars.
Duquesne University Health Service - The University strives to maintain the health and wellness of our students by providing physician and nursing care, routine physical exams, emergency care and more. Services include:
- Routine medical care; evaluation and treatment of illness and injury
- Allergy injections administered when ordered by personal physician. (Subject to review & approval by DUHS staff physician) Students must provide serum & instructions. Nominal fee per semester.
- Health & well-being consultation with appropriate referral as necessary
- Routine physical exams
- Acute primary care
- Nutritional consultations
Health Service partners with the Center for Pharmacy Services to provide starter doses of prescriptions at minimal cost as well as the option for on-campus prescription delivery.
Mary Pappert School of Music Performances - Mary Pappert School of Music students perform and participate in more than 200 concerts every year at venues in the city of Pittsburgh and in the newly-dedicated Genesius Theater. Enjoy amazing performances from our talented students and faculty.
Power Center - The state-of-the-art Power Center has 80,000 square feet dedicated to recreation
and fitness, featuring a wide array of fun and challenging ways to stay fit and well. Fitness classes,
including spinning, zumba and pilates. Personal training sessions are also available.
Spiritan Campus Ministry - From liturgical celebrations, cross-cultural mission experiences, local service
experiences, and faith exploration, Spiritan Campus Ministry invites you to explore
all the ways you can contribute at Duquesne and beyond.
The Union NiteSpot - a popular area for students, as well as, a lively late-night place to relax with
friends. Located on the first floor of the Union, the NiteSpot is equipped with billiard tables,
table tennis tables, foosball, air hockey, shuffleboard, and a tv/movie room. This
popular facility also offers a variety of programs on a weekly basis along with free
beverages.
Wellbeing Club - The Wellbeing club brings together Duquesne University students interested in cultivating wellbeing in their lives and the lives of others. The club aims to cultivate Wellbeing in a variety of ways, including exploring techniques and practices that can help to cultivate Wellbeing in daily life.
Volunteer Opportunities - Each year we volunteer more than 248,000 hours of time and talent, also donating financial resources and material goods with the goal of making
a positive difference in the lives of others. The Duquesne University Volunteers (DUV)
is the umbrella volunteer movement that encompasses all volunteer activities at Duquesne.
