Dr. Michael Eric Dyson to Share Insights at DU Unity Banquet
Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, a best-selling author, scholar, talk radio host and cultural critic, will keynote Duquesne University’s Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) second annual Unity Banquet and Scholarship Benefit.
The Unity Banquet and Scholarship Benefit celebrates diversity and academic excellence among the Duquesne’s community of scholars and honors the University’s students for outstanding accomplishments.
Dyson was named one of the 40 most inspiring African-Americans by Essence magazine and as one of the 100 most influential black Americans by Ebony magazine. He is a professor at Georgetown University, where he teaches a range of courses related to religion, culture and society. He alsohosts the syndicated radio show, The Michael Eric Dyson Show, which addresses social, cultural and political issues in a contemporary vein.
The cost is $40 per person. All proceeds will benefit Duquesne’s OMA Scholarship Fund, which assists multicultural students or student leaders served under the umbrella of the OMA who demonstrate financial need.
