Duquesne Expecting Nearly 700 at Breakfast to Honor Region’s Vets
Duquesne University will host nearly 700 veterans and guests at the 16th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 8 a.m. in the Union Ballroom. Jessica L. Garfola Wright, under secretary of defense for personnel and readiness in the U.S. Department of Defense, will serve as the keynote speaker.
The breakfast-which is the largest of its kind in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania-is presented by the Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania (VLP), which provides area veterans in need and their families with the support to help them rebuild their lives after military service.
Individual tickets can be purchased for $35, and a table of 10 is available for $350. Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit three veteran-related causes-the VLP, Friends of Danang and Shepherd's Heart Fellowship. In addition, funds will be provided to the Duquesne University Endowed Veterans Student Resource Fund.
