These competitions are hosted by the Center for Excellence in Entrepreneurship (CEE):
- Duquesne New Venture Challenge (DNVC), Duquesne University – This three-stage business plan competition is a platform for early-stage startups to showcase their innovations, receive mentorship, and compete for resources and cash prizes.
- InnoPitch, Duquesne University – This two-day, collaborative pitch competition brought together Duquesne biomedical engineering, nursing, and business students.
- TechStars Startup Weekend, Duquesne University – In just three days, students and budding entrepreneurs develop viable pitches for startups.
Information Systems & Technology and Business Analytics
- Association for Information Systems (AIS) Student Chapter Leadership Conference, Tuscaloosa, AL
- Data for Difference Making Challenge, Duquesne University – Graduate students from Duquesne create data-driven solutions to address a challenge with societal impact.

The Center for Leadership in Professional Selling (CLPS) hosts the following events and competitions:
- Marketing Mixer Networking Event, Duquesne University – Students connect with marketing professionals and explore career options and internship and job placements.
- Meet the Firm Night, Duquesne University – Students of all majors network with recruiters and professionals from regional companies.
- Steel City Sales Challenge, Duquesne University – Two-day, virtual competition for sales role-plays and elevator pitches. The competition is open to undergraduate students from universities across the country.
