Financial Planning Track Launching Fall 2025!

The Financial Planning track will be an option for finance majors interested in helping people achieve their financial goals. Financial Planning will also be available to all other business majors and non-business students as either a certificate or a minor. Students will be well-equipped to meet rising workforce demands for professional financial advisors while establishing themselves in a relevant, lucrative, and rewarding career.

The Business of Difference Making®

We prepare students so they can make a profound difference in their careers and in the world. To accomplish that, we constantly strive to ensure that our programs, our environment, and our culture enable and support the work we do in difference-making. When you choose to study business at Duquesne, you’re choosing to earn a degree from a trusted, innovative leader.

Discover Your Path to Success in Business

Considering possible majors? Finding a way to combine interests? Many students begin college before they decide on a major, and many students change their major at some point in their academic journey. Our Discover students have the opportunity to see how our majors operate together in a corporate setting, before they choose their major.

I was accepted and had a moment of realization that I had to move. I have no family in Pennsylvania; I don’t have a car. I was very nervous but found a community of people who took care of me. They took away that scary feeling of being here by myself."

Duquesne–Pittsburgh Connection

Duquesne’s campus is just minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh—a thriving center of business, finance, and innovation. For business students, this means a walkable commute to internships and job opportunities.

Our partnerships create unique opportunities for experiential learning. Through course-embedded consulting projects, you will collaborate directly with major companies—many just steps from campus—like Wesco, Ally Financial, Kraft Heinz, and Level Agency.

Pittsburgh consistently ranks as one of the best cities for young professionals. With a low cost of living and abundant career opportunities, the “Steel City” offers an unmatched college experience. With over 30 museums, historical and architectural tours, a lively Cultural District, four professional sports teams, and plenty of green space—boredom is never an option.
